Last September I had a baby. She came into this world, a fierce little thing, and we named her Pepper.
The last 8 or so months have been eventful, to say the least. I feel like ‘balance’ is not the right word to describe being both a mother and a business owner. There never really is a balance. Sometimes I’m completely focused on my work, other times on my baby girl. I can’t be a good mother and a good photographer if I’m trying to do both things at once. It might seem obvious, but it’s taken me a while to figure that out.
We (my husband and I) are so excited to be on this adventure called parenthood. I say adventure because, as definition would have it, an adventure is defined as “an unusual and exciting or daring experience, sometimes with an uncertain outcome.” We’re not sure what’s ahead, but whatever it is, we’ll have our arms wide open and our eyes upward and our hearts beating hard.
