Last August, when the winter rains were pouring and the air still held a chill, my husband and I packed our bags and adventured off to the island of Rote, Indonesia. It’s a bit of a hip skip and jump from WA. A flight to Bali, an overnight stay, another flight to Kupang, Timor, and then the final leg to Rote. It was worth it. Rote is an unbelievable island. The water is blue, the beaches unspoiled, and there are little pigs running around everywhere! I shot a few rolls of film while there on my Contax G2. I always take my film camera when I go on holidays (actual holidays, not working holidays!) and leave my digital at home. A few months later, I’ve loved seeing how these images turned out – great reminders of the most peaceful, relaxing holiday I’ve been on!
