a couple of months ago i did a online workshop called ‘light, lines and love’, held by ‘the define school‘ and taught by the amazing logan cole (seriously, this guy is amazing). over four weeks i was immersed in a world of learning how to see. really see. i took lots of notes in my field book, submitted photos week by week and had them critiqued. having homework was a bit daunting. having my photographs critiqued even more so. but i loved it. it pushed me to see things in, literally, a different light. i began to experiment, to challenge myself, to think beyond the norm.
sure, things didn’t work out all the time. i may have left one or two assignments too late, got caught in the rain and learnt that you shouldn’t play with sparklers indoors…but these things only made me want to do better and go further.
I was constantly thinking about what photos to take. From the moment I woke up to when I fell asleep, my mind was like a perpetual brainstorm of ideas. I loved it. I felt invigorated to create, and I just wanted to get out there.
these are some of the images i took in those four weeks:
Love! The darker light is fun and effective, the wedding shot gorgeously romantic and I love how creation looms over people in others!
Your images are so awesome Aimee!! Nice write up on Logan’s class :)
Interesting to hear your view of this class… that guy is amazing and SO SO young!
I love the stories you’ve told in your images…
